About Anna
I'm Anna Leppinen, a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO #14735) and the owner of Next Chapter Psychotherapy Services in North Bay, Ontario. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, an undergraduate degree in Sociology from McMaster University, and a diploma in Social Service Work from Canadore College.
I work with individuals and couples, in person at our North Bay office and online with clients across Ontario.
Why I became a psychotherapist
I believe that truly knowing yourself is one of the most meaningful journeys a person can take. My work is grounded in the conviction that people grow best in relationships marked by safety, trust, and mutual respect. I became a psychotherapist to offer exactly that kind of relationship: a steady, non-judgmental space where clients can be honest about their struggles, make sense of their past, and discover more authentic ways of living.
My approach to therapy
My approach is collaborative and tailored to each client. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, which may include:
- Attachment-based therapy, exploring how early relationships shape present patterns
- Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), examining the links between thoughts, feelings, and actions
- Compassion focused therapy, building a kinder inner voice
- Emotionally focused therapy, working with emotion as a guide to deeper understanding
- Humanistic and strength-based approaches, honouring your capacity for growth
- Internal family systems (IFS), getting to know the different parts of yourself
- Solution focused brief therapy, building on what already works
- Somatic therapy, including the body's experience in the work
- Trauma focused therapy, approached with care and at your pace
These are approaches I weave into my work as appropriate, not separate certifications. What matters most to me is the therapeutic relationship itself: feeling safe, understood, and respected is what allows real exploration to happen.
Therapy with me is also practical. Alongside deeper exploration, you can expect honest conversation about coping strategies, communication, and small, sustainable changes that support the life you want to build.
What I value in the therapeutic relationship
Fit matters. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important parts of therapy, and I welcome honest conversation about whether the work feels right for you. My practice is built on authenticity, self-compassion, and empowerment: I will strive to help you remain in the driver's seat of your own life.
